The 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is still more than four weeks away. But the teams have started preparing for the season and will reach the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by August 22 to fulfill the quarantine protocols set by the BCCI. However, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) turned out to be the only franchise to somehow organise a camp for its players before flying out of India.

Most of the Indian players in the team landed in Chennai for the training camp from August 15 to August 19. However, on the first day itself, the team was left shocked with two of its best players announcing international retirement. MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina decided to hang their boots and the emotional scenes surfaced in the CSK camp.

But there was no let off in intensity during the training camp. All the players were seen sweating it out in the nets. CSK’s official Twitter handle posted a video giving glimpses of their camp ahead of the team’s departure to the UAE on Friday. In the video, it can be seen that MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina are practising hard and the former also hit some huge sixes in the nets.

Interestingly, the video ended with MS Dhoni launching one into the stands in his trademark style and Raina, standing behind enjoying it to the hilt. He also whistled lauding his skipper in his own way.

Here’s the video:

Vintage MS Dhoni on show in IPL 2020?

Now that he has taken international retirement, MS Dhoni won’t be under any pressure to make a comeback for India and we might get to witness a vintage batsman in him. The fans will be eager to see him again on the field having last played any competitive game more than 13 months ago.

It is still not clear if the veteran cricketer will play the IPL next year and it will only be fair for his fans to enjoy watching him in the middle without scrutinising him much.
