Hampshire and the runners-up of the last season Sussex will be locking horns on Saturday to get their campaign underway in the T20 Blast 2019. James Vince will lead Hampshire this year and the team would be eager to forget their exploits in the last season. They could win only a couple of matches in 2018 edition and will need a much better effort to start well. Sussex are one of the better teams in the competition and finalists last year will be keen to go one step further this time.
Hampshire boast of a decent squad this time around. Chris Morris is their overseas signing who is quite impressive in the T20 format and is coming off a decent World Cup for South Africa. The World Cup winners Vince and Liam Dawson will also be high on confidence after the high last week. Sussex have been boosted with Rashid Khan returning to the team. He will be available for their first 10 matches of the season.
The South division game of the T20 Blast 2019 will be played between Hampshire and Sussex at the County Ground in Southampton.
The match starts at 06:30 PM local time (05:30 AM GMT) (11:00 PM IST). This game will be live on Sky Sports in England.
There is no idea how this pitch will behave as this is the first match across any level at the County Ground since 1999. Only five matches at the international level have been played before and it is set to host two matches this season. The pitch is expected to be good for batting though and the team winning the toss might look to bowl first.
