Match number 6 of the T20 Mumbai League will witness the Eagle Thane Strikers take on the Aakash Tigers. While Eagle Thane Strikers suffered a close 6 run loss in their opening fixture to the North Mumbai Panthers, Aakash Tigers posted a thrilling one run win over the Knights.

While chasing the Panthers’ 190 was always going to be a tall order, the Strikers got within striking distance in the run-chase, falling short by just one big hit. Ankush Jaiswal and Sagar Mishra were the stand-out bowler for the Strikers.
In the run-chase, Kaushik Chikhalikar gave a good account of himself while opening the batting. The real danger-man was always going to Aditya Tare and he lived up to the expectations with a stellar knock of 71.

2019 marks the Tigers’ debut in the league and the outfit will represent Virar, Phalghar, Boisar, Dahanu Road, Bhayandar, Vasai, NalaSopara and Mira Road.
The biggest name that the Tigers picked up in the draft was Mumbai pacer and India international Dhawal Kulkarni. Ram Jajodia, Chairman and Managing Director of the Aakash Group, stated that the reason for pursuing Kulkarni was his senior status in the state and his international credentials.
Batting first in their opening fixture, the Tigers were well served by their top-3 in the form of Pawar, Gomel and Arjun Tendulkar. While 148 was not going to be a match-winning total, the Tigers ensured that it was just about enough. Skipper Dhawal Kulkarni and Nehal Katakdhond turned in tight spells to ensure that Suryakumar Yadav wasn’t going to run away with the match.

Dhawal Kulkarni: the seasoned Mumbai campaigner shrugged off his IPL blues and turned in a strong spell of 1/23 in his opening outing. With points on the board, both Kulkarni and his team will be bustling with confidence
Arujun Tendulkar: the junior Tendulkar has been primed to play a strong role in the squad. He came in at number-3 and then opened the bowling as well. He sure did give a decent account of himself in the opening game. Expect him, therefore, to get better as the tournament moves along
Nehal Katakdhond: the Tigers will be banking on Katakhond to turn up and do what he did against the Knights – bowl a tight economical spell. And if he were to pick up a wicket or two, the Tigers will be well served
Aditya Tare: the Mumbai stumper lived up to the expectations with a stellar knock in the Strikers’ opening game. His 71 (44) was studded with 10 boundaries. With a start such as this and a superlative strike-rate of 161.36, the Strikers will feel confident going into this fixture
Kaushik Chikhalikar: the Strikers needed a solid opening batsman and Chikhalikar did the job for the in the league opener. With five boundaries and two sixes, Chikhalikar has shown that he can strike it well.
