Few matches to be played in Oman too
With the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to go on until October 15, few matches of the qualifying round are expected to be played in Oman. The hosts BCCI are working on the same and it has been understood that Oman will host its group matches as they have been clubbed with Papua New Guinea, Scotland and Bangladesh. The two teams from this group will make it to the Super 12.
The other group comprises of Ireland, Namibia, Netherlands and Sri Lanka and the top two teams from this group will also make it to the next round. All the matches of the Super 12 round will be mostly played across three venues – Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi – in the UAE.
Coming back to the clash between India and Pakistan, the Men in Green have never emerged victorious against their arch-rivals in a World Cup game of any format. It remains to be seen if India manages to continue their winning run against Pakistan this time around as well.
