India bowed out of the 2021 T20 World Cup in the Super 12 stages of the tournament
India were knocked out of the 2021 T20 World Cup in the Super 12 stages of the competition. India finished third in Group 2, and failed to qualify for the semi-finals.
Out of the 5 matches that they played, India won 3 of those. While they beat the likes of Afghanistan, Namibia, and Scotland, the ‘Men in Blue’ went down to both New Zealand as well as arch-rivals Pakistan.
In fact, India’s 10-wicket loss to Pakistan was the first time that the Indian side had lost to Pakistan in a limited-overs World Cup match. The Australian side won the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup, beating New Zealand in the summit clash of the competition. India have won the T20 World Cup once, in the inaugural edition in South Africa in 2007, and they beat the Pakistan side in the summit clash.
