Team India registered an emphatic win over the hosts Sri Lanka in the second Test of the 3-match Test series. The win at Colombo has ensured that the Indian team has an unassailable lead in the series. Soon after the win, the Virat Kohli-led side made a very sweet gesture for one of the most iconic fans of Sri Lankan cricket – Uncle Percy. Uncle Percy is one of the most prominent names among the cricket fanatics.

He is similar to India’s superfan Sudhir and Pakistan’s renowned Chacha Cricket. The diehard fan of the Sri Lankan cricket, Uncle Percy, was present in the stands at Colombo on the penultimate day of the Test match. He was seen shouting the chants for the Indian team as well during the game. No wonder why the Indian team management decided to give him a special present.

Team India head coach, Ravi Shastri, was spotted throwing a signed team India jersey towards him from the balcony of the Indian cricket team dressing room. The jersey was signed by the members of the Indian cricket team. Certainly, such sweet gestures make the game of cricket all the way more beautiful.

Whitewash on cards

Talking about the series win, the win stands as a remarkable start for the India on the overseas front. The last time they had toured Sri Lanka in the year 2015, they had won the series back then as well. However, this time around, they have a chance round the corner to make it a perfect finish. A whitewash is on the cards if the Indian team manages to beat the hosts in the third and the final Test as well.

The current form of the two sides suggest that the Indian team can certainly get this done. At the same time, none could rule out the Sri Lankan team at their own backyard. Sri Lankan skipper Dinesh Chandimal had recently remarked that a win against a team like team India will be a big boost for them. The third Test will be played at Kandy and it starts on September 12.
