For an employee, the best time of a year is none other than the appraisal time. No, it is not because his/her performances get reviewed for the greater good, but it is because he/she gets rewarded for all the hard work he/she has done in that year. To be exact, every employee eagerly awaits for his/her deserved salary hike, and it is no different in cricket as well. In particular, in IPL, where several individuals ply their trade for contracts worth millions.

Here every cricketer is an important member of their respective franchise, and each one of them plays the game with the same amount of dedication. Still, there is a clear inequality when it comes to the distribution of contracts. While some of them get the best deals, others don’t get it even when they give their best on the field.

In IPL 2020 also, there are some cricketers who earn way less than their counterparts. They have been performing better than the star players of their team, but they are yet to receive their due credit in the form of more worthy contracts. Interestingly, all these players combined earn less than the big stars of the league like MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.

Here is the list Team-wise one player who deserves a salary hike :

1) Mumbai Indians – Suryakumar Yadav ( 3.9 crores)

With a clinical performance against Rajasthan Royals, the Mumbai Indians have raced to the pole position in the points table. The titleholders are clearly making a statement to the other teams. And by the looks of it, the Rohit Sharma-led side will be ‘the team’ to beat going forward in the season.

All their players are playing at the highest level of cricket. One can expect nothing else from them as the team is full of cricketing Goliaths. And the only David amongst them is Suryakumar Yadav. No international experience and no cricketing records to his name, Yadav is just a simple cricketer with a ton of aspirations.

He may also have certain limitations, but he plays the game in his own way and it has been mighty effective for the Mumbai Indians. He has scored over 1000 runs in the last three seasons. Most of those runs have come whenever the team’s star players have failed to make contributions. In other words, he has held their batting unit together in tough conditions.

For all that arduous task, the Mumbaikar only receives a paycheck of 3.9 crores. It is very low compared to the workload carried by him. He certainly deserves a few more millions for helping the team become a formidable force in the league. It will not do any harm to the franchise, and it will only motivate Yadav to do more for the Mumbai camp.
