Virender Sehwag, since his retirement, has made quite a name for himself on Twitter with his unique method of wishing people on their birthdays or congratulating them for their on-field success or achievements.

The Twitterati got to see his funny side once again after the first ODI between India and New Zealand which was played on October 22, 2017. Taylor played a match winning innings for the Blackcaps in that game and while a lot of people congratulated the Kiwi right-hander, it was Sehwag’s post that caught the eyes.

Sehwag called Taylor a “Darji” in his tweet and praised him for batting so well despite dealing with the pressure of Diwali orders. Now “Darji” is a Hindi word for tailor the one who stitches clothes. A tailor’s workload during Diwali in India is immense as everyone wants new clothes stitched. Because tailor sounds the same as “Taylor”, Viru did a bit of a wordplay there much to the amusement of the Twitterati.

Ross Taylor himself seemed to enjoy Viru’s post as he also replied back to Sehwag in Hindi and urged him to send his orders well in advance from next Diwali so that he could deliver him the clothes on time.

Sehwag, being the funny guy that he is, was not going to stop just yet as he asked Taylor to cut his pants by a “bilang” which is a Hindi unit of measurement equivalent to 5 inches. Taylor was quick to get back to Sehwag on that as he asked him if his own tailor had not done a good job on Diwali.

Sehwag then took the conversation to its conclusion by saying whether it’s a cloth or a partnership; nobody can stitch it better than the ultimate tailor which is Ross “Taylor”.
