MI was eventually restricted to 149/9 as Chennai qualified for the next round with an emphatic 38-run win.

The Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings would meet in yet another knockout clash but, this time the tables were turned against the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side as they went down in a low-scoring thriller. MI won the toss and elected to bat first but their top-order failed to show any application at the crease as Chennai bowlers made merry with the new ball.
At 100/5, Mumbai seemed to lose the plot before a blistering unbeaten 32-ball 60 from the Caribbean power-hitter <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/end-of-an-era-thanks-for-the-entertainment-twitter-reacts-as-kieron-pollard-bids-adieu-to-international-cricket/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kieron Pollard</a> helped them post a respectable total of 148/9 and the Mumbai bowlers had a good enough total to defend with the occasion being a big one and they made the ball do the talking exceptionally well.
The seasoned pacers Lasith Malinga and Mitchell Johnson broke the backbone of CSK and completely derailed their run chase right from the very first over. Skipper MS Dhoni did wage a lone battle later on in the innings scoring 63 runs from 45 deliveries but, it was too little and too late as Mumbai Indians won the contest by 23 runs to lift their maiden IPL trophy.

This league clash during the 2021 edition saw Kieron Pollard snatch victory for Mumbai from the jaws of defeat in what was a high-scoring thriller at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. What really stood out in this contest was that an underfire Pollard suddenly roared back to form with his power-hitting abilities.

The score looked intimidating but, Mumbai Indians were up for the challenge as captain Rohit and wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock laid a solid foundation with a 71-run opening stand. MI were soon reduced to 81/3 before the middle-order duo of Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya carried out the rescue act with an 89-run stand for the fourth wicket.
After Krunal&#8217;s dismissal, his younger brother Hardik and New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham could not hang around for too long but, Pollard held his nerves and successfully anchored the run chase with an unbeaten 34-ball 87 as the five-time champions got across the finish line by four wickets in a final-ball thriller.

Last but not least, the grand finale of the 2019 tournament takes the top spot in this list as it went down to the wire in order to decide which of these teams would win the IPL trophy for a record fourth time. Both teams were tied at three each coming into this clash at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
