The 1983 and 2011 World champions have won 46 matches out of 75 played. Considering the fact that they won just one game in the first 2 editions of the World cup, their record is impressive.
India has been a successful team reaching semifinals in 1987, 1996 and 2015 editions and the finals in 2003 World cup. India also lost just 2 matches in the 2003 tournament and lost 1 and tied 1 in the 2011 tournament. Their 2015 World Cup journey took them to the semi-finals, where they lost to Australia and were knocked out of the World Cup. 

2.New Zealand- 48 wins out of 79 matches

The Kiwis have the second best record in World cups with 48 wins out of 79 matches. They have reached the semifinals on consistent basis in 1979, 1992, 2007 and 2011.
They did their best in the 2015 World Cup, reaching the finals for the first time after 6 appearances in semi-finals. But they could not lift the trophy, as Australia proved to be the better team in the finals.

The 5-time champions Australia have the world record for 25 consecutive wins in the World Cup starting after a defeat by Pakistan in the group stage in the 1999 World Cup, through the 2003 and 2007 editions, right until they met Pakistan again in the 2011 World cup group stage.
But that does not take away anything from them since they have won 62 games in a total of 84. They also won a hat-trick of titles in 1999, 2003 and 2007 and now they won the 2015 tournament. Australia&#8217;s record of 5 title wins will be hard to replicate or equal, let alone breaking it any time soon.
