ICC CEO David Richardson to step down following World Cup 2019

  • The International Cricket Council today confirmed that David Richardson will step down as ICC Chief Executive when his contract expires post next summer’s ICC Cricket World Cup.
  • In 2002, Mr Richardson became the first person to hold the position of ICC General Manager – Cricket, and was promoted as the Chief Executive in 2012.

Harmanpreet Kaur could lose her DSP position in Punjab Police

  • The captain of the India women’s T20I team Harmanpreet Kaur had to fight a lot to be able to take up the position of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Punjab Police.
  • Her previous employer Western Railways weren’t willing to let Harmanpreet go due to bond related obligations and it was only after Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh intervened that she could switch jobs between the two government-run organisations.
