Shahid Afridi once again turned out to be a disappointment with the bat after he was dismissed for a duck. Afridi could only last two balls at the crease before he was caught by Sabbir Rahman at deep mid-wicket off the bowling of Al-Amin-Hossain. The stage was set for Shahid Afridi when he entered the crease in the 18th over of the match. Fans expected some crunch hits from the veteran but he failed his supported by getting out cheaply. This was his fourth consecutive T20 innings where he failed to reach double-digit score. Afridi is already facing the heat for his recent performance with many questioning his place in the team.

Pakistan began very badly as their top order failed miserably and put the team into a spot of bother. However, middle-order batsmen Shoaib Malik and Sarfraz Khan steadied the innings and took Pakistan to a safe position. However, Malik lost his wicket in the 17 over which brought Afridi into the field but, unfortunately, it was yet another sad outing for the Pakistan skipper. The twitter space soon began to flood with fan reacting to Shahid Afridi’s repeated failures.

Pakistan were unaffected by his dismissal as Anwar Ali and Sarfraz Ahmed added quick runs in the penultimate and the last over to take Pakistan to a manageable total of 129/7 after 20 overs. Pakistan is currently on a verge of getting knocked out of the tournament if they lose this game. They have only one win the two games they played and must win this game to stay alive in the multi-nation tournament.
