The Vijay Hazare Trophy witnessed some thrilling scenario’s going into its 5th day. Yuvraj Singh shined with the bat while Amit Mishra’s 3 wickets went in vain. Assam lost yet another game, whereas Mumbai grabbed easy 4 points. Check out how all the games unfolded in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on day 5.

1. Mumbai beats Services:

Nakul Verma’s 50 helped Services to 151, but it was too little too late, as Mumbai chased down the total without much fuss. Akhil Herwadkar scored 46 while Shreyas Iyer chipped in with 35. Shardul’s 4 wickets were the highlight of the game, as he bowled 20 consecutive dot balls while picking up 2 wicket maidens.

Brief Scores:

Services 151 all out in 42.1 overs (Nakul Verma 50; Shradul Thakur 4-19) lost to Mumbai 156 for 4 in 25.2 overs (Akhil Herwadkar 46) by six wickets.

2. Railways floor J&k

Railway did well to get to 200 and Karn Sharma ensured no hiccups with his fluent 60. Waseem Raza’s four-wicket haul went in vain as Jammu and Kashmir failed to chase down the score and got folded for 157.

Railways 200 all out in 49.4 overs (Karn Sharma 60; Waseem Raza 4-31) beat J&K 157 all out in 43.5 overs (Ian Dev Singh 60; Ashish Yadav 3-28) by 43 runs.

3. Baroda wins it big

Bhargav Bhatt’s four wickets helped Baroda restrict Maharashtra for 176. It was then left to Waghmode and Deepak Hooda to guide Baroda home without choking. In the end Baroda grabbed 4 easy points.

Maharashtra 176 for 9 in 50 overs (Rahul Tripathi 46; Bhargav Bhatt 4-30) lost to Baroda 177 for 2 in 39.3 overs (Aditya Waghmode 77*, Deepak Hooda 58*) by eight wickets.

4. Jharkhand shine but MS fails again

Ishank Jaggi was once again among runs, as he scored a half-century to guide his team to 216. KL Rahul tried his best to snatch a win with his patient 84-ball 42, but Jharkhand had the last laugh.

Jharkhand 216 for 8 (Ishank Jaggi 50, Kumar Deobrat 47*; J Suchith 4-35) beat Karnataka 169 all out in 45 overs (KL Rahul 42; Shahbaz Nadeem 3-15, Sonu Singh 3-20) by 47 runs.

5. Vidarbha registers massive win

Twin centuries from J Sharma (105) and Ganesh Satish (140) guided Vidarbha to 324 and then it was left to Wakhare to finish the business. Tripura were bowled out for 166 to hand Vidarbha 4 points.

Vidarbha 324 for 5 in 50 overs (Ganesh Satish 140, Jitesh Sharma 105) beat Tripura 166 all out in 47.4 overs (Sanjay Majumder 39; Akshay Wakhare 3-29) by 158 runs.

6. Hyderabad thrashes Assam

Tanmay Agarwal and Vihari’s fine show helped Hyderabad reach 271 in 50 overs. Chasing 272, Assam went down without a fight to hand Hyderabad an easy win. Ravi Kiran and Milind shared 6 wickets between themselves.

Hyderabad 271 for 8 in 50 overs (Tanmay Agarwal 83, Hanuma Vihari 51; Arup Das 3-45, Jogeswar Bhumiz 3-58) beat Assam 199 all out in 50 overs (Pallav Kumar Das 54; Ravi Kiran 3-30, Chama Milind 3-44) by 72 runs.

7. Punjab registers easy win

Manender Singh’s 118 helped Rajasthan post 270 on the board. But Punjab shattered their hopes, as Yuvraj Singh and Mandeep Singh’s half-century guided them to a six-wicket win.

Rajasthan 270 for 7 in 50 overs (Manender Singh 118, Puneet Yadav 43; Barinder Sran 4-60) lost to Punjab 273 for 4 in 44.4 overs (Yuvraj Singh 78*, Mandeep Singh 60) by six wickets.

8. Pradeep helps Andhra grab 4 points

AG Pradeep’s century took Andhra to 261 and Siva Kumar’s four wickets shattered Odisha’s hopes, as they failed to chase down 261 and got bundled for 206. Andhra happily took home four points while Odisha were left wanting.

Andhra 261 for 4 in 50 overs (AG Pradeep 102*, Jyothi Sai Krishna 72) beat Odisha 206 all out in 48 overs (Anurag Sarangi 52, Bipab Samantray 44, Natraj Behera 42; Siva Kumar 4-37) by 55 runs.

9. Kalaria wins it for Gujarat 

Gujarat posted 259 on the board, as Amit Mishra took 3 wickets. Chasing 260, Haryana got off to a good start with the openers building 46 runs for the first wicket. But Kalaria’s four wickets were too good good for Haryana as they were wrapped up for 231.

Gujarat 259 all out in 49.5 overs (Rujul Bhatt 55; Amit Mishra 3-44) beat Haryana 231 all out in 49.5 overs (Poonish Mehta 57, Rahul Dagar 53; Rush Kalaria 4-37) by 18 runs.
