Indian skipper Virat Kohli has reached new heights in international cricket. The dynamic right-hander most recently reached a milestone after scoring 50 centuries in international cricket. A lynchpin in the batting lineup, Kohli keeps the ability to decimate any bowling lineup on his day. At just 29, he has been compared to some of the legends of the game, and quite rightly as he had gone on to shatter so many of their records.

Kohli has so far scored 51 centuries in international cricket, scoring 19 hundred in the 62 Tests (4,975 runs) that he played. The 29-year-old Kohli averages over 50 in all three formats of the game. After guiding the Men in Blue to a comfortable victory over the Islanders in the Nagpur Test, skipper Kohli will aim to extend their dominion in the upcoming Delhi Test too.

Heralded as one of the most lethal batsmen on the pitch, Kohli undoubtedly is a headache for the bowlers. They are unable to find a weak spot for Kohli and often go for a bashing. However, a former Australian great believes otherwise. Veteran Aussie opener Matthew Hayden conceded if at all the Delhi right-hander could be “exploited” it would be in the longer format where he is “most vulnerable”.

When asked if there is any way to milk Virat, Hayden was quoted as saying to DNA, “I think, like every player, Virat has got some challenges within his game that can, and have been, exploited. But still, he is an extremely consistent player. Over the formats of the game, Test cricket would be where he would be most vulnerable.”

He added, “Statistics have proved that and something he will be working on really hard as well. It would have been a great battle between the Australian side that I played in and Virat Kohli at the crease.”

“Like it was with a Laxman, a Dravid, a Tendulkar, a Ganguly, those great battles between our world class side, and we had a side that’s probably focussed and disciplined on each batsman. I don’t think there are too many glaring weaknesses in Virat.”
