After decimating Sri Lanka at home across all formats of the game, the Men in Blue will be aiming to do an encore. The nations are presently embroiled in a gruelling second Test encounter at Nagpur after the first game ended in a draw. The rain-hit fixture at Kolkata disrupted much of the game time on the first two days resulting the match to end in a draw.

Thus in a bid to seal the 3-match Test series, the Indian team led by skipper Virat Kohli will try everything within their grasp to win the Nagpur Test and keep their dominion over the Islanders intact. And it looks like there’s no stopping the Indian captain. After registering his 50th international ton at Kolkata, Kohli did an encore in the Nagpur Test to get his 19th Test hundred and 51 overall.

He is enjoying a sublime form on the pitch and even the balls which he wanted to leave are running to the fence. Serving as a testament to that, while batting on 84 on Day 3, Kohli tried to duck a short delivery from Suranga Lakmal off the fifth ball in the 113th over. However, the ball got inside the line and connected with the end of the bat handle. The ball eventually rolled down and went for a four.

With the century at Nagpur, the dynamic right-hander registered his fourth against Lanka, and second in two matches. This was Kohli’s 12th Test hundred in 49th innings as India captain, and in the process, surpassed Sunil Gavaskar‘s 11 in 74. Mohammed Azharuddin has nine in 68, while Sachin Tendulkar has seven in 43.

India resumed Day 3 with the overnight score of 312/2, and Kohli on 54. The skipper added a 183-run stand for the third-wicket partnership, which ended with the departure of Cheteshwar Pujara (143) in the 125th over.
