Virat Kohli and Ben Stokes were in the thick of things during the first day of the 3rd Test at Mohali when the duo got involved in a verbal spat after the dismissal of Ben Stokes.
After winning the toss and batting first, England got off to a worst possible start and was reduced to 87/4 with both Alastair Cook and Joe Root back in the hut. Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes were going along well after the early losses and looked set to take England to a position of safety but an uncharacteristic lapse in concentration from Stokes made him pay and he was stumped by Parthiv Patel of the bowling of Ravindra Jadeja.
The Indian spinners were bowling in the right areas and not allowing the visiting batsmen to get away which provoked Stokes to go for a big hit. It was the last ball of the 45th over when Stokes danced down the track only to miss a straighter one from Jadeja and was stumped by the makeshift wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel.
India was toiling pretty hard for their wickets and the wicket of Stokes came at a crucial juncture of the game to put the brakes on the visitors. After the dismissal, Indian captain Virat Kohli was seen having a banter with the southpaw as both the star cricketers shared a heated argument. It was unclear what the issue was about but it was pretty sure that the aggressive Virat Kohli was pumped up and might have told something after Stokes went for a rash shot.
The umpires eventually came to calm things down and Kohli was seen pointing finger at Stokes to indicate something. This was not the first time Kohli was involved in a verbal spat and it might not be the last time either.
