Watch: Kieron Pollard impedes Angry Dale Steyn: The second T20 between West Indies and South Africa turned out to be a close affair. But the highlight of the match was the 18th over of West Indies’s innings, when Kieron Pollard impeded Dale Steyn’s path, as the bowler tried to follow up on the ball. It seemed like Pollard intentionally blocked the bowlers path to avoid a possible run out. No wonder Dale Steyn was angry at the outcome and both the players exchanged a heated argument.

Later on, Kieron Pollard, the West Indies batsman, was fined 25% of his match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct . Pollard was charged with a Level 1 offence under article 2.1.8 of the code which relates to conduct contrary to the spirit of cricket.

The match refree certainly didn’t miss out on the action. He addressed the issue saying “A competitive attitude is to be promoted and cherished on the cricket field but players must also remember at all times to play within the spirit of the game,” Roshan Mahanama, the match referee, said. “On this occasion Kieron has overstepped the mark and I have fined him 25 per cent of his match fee, a penalty that he has accepted.” South Africa grabbed a 1 run win over the hosts, while David Miller was adjudged the man of the match.
