The second IRE v PAK One-Day International will be played at The Village in Malahide. While Ireland will certainly be hoping to give their home fans something to cheer, the away side, Pakistan will be hoping to complete a 2-0 whitewash and gain some confidence ahead of their arduous tour of England in the upcoming few days.

Most of the eyeballs, as well as Lion’s share of the spotlight, will well and truly be on southpaw Sharjeel Khan. The youngster smashed an audacious 152 runs off just 85 deliveries, something that has been compared to the likes of former Kiwi skipper Brendon McCullum. Sharjeel went on to immortalize his innings when his was deemed as the fourth fastest ton by a Pakistani batsman, with the previous three slots belonging to legend Shahid Afridi. Moreover, his innings saw him compile the third fastest ODI score in excess of 150 runs.

However, in spite of the heroics of Sharjeel, Imad Wasim also stole a sliver of the former’s limelight when he claimed figures of 5/14. However, looking ahead, the fact of the matter remains that both sides are in a desperate need of ODI victories, something that will propel them up the ladder in terms of the official ICC ODI rankings.

There will be three changes in the Pakistan’s XI. Yasir Shah, Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Rizwan are in for Mohammad Amir, Sarfraz Ahmed and Mohammad Nawaz.
