The remainder of the IPL 2021 is all set to begin in the UAE from September 19. Ahead of the tournament, there are certain bio-bubble protocols put forward in the BCCI’s Health & Safety Protocols. The players and the staff will all have to follow these to ensure the smooth conduct of the tournament amidst these difficult times. Recently it has been noted that despite strict biosecure environments, the Covid-19 virus had hit the camps.

Taking this into consideration, there have been certain conditions that have been laid down if individual tests positive. According to the protocol, anyone testing positive during the IPL will have to isolate for a period of a minimum of ten days. It will then be followed by two tests on day nine and day ten. For the individual to re-enter the bubble it is mandatory to clear two negative RT-PCR tests that are taken 24 hours apart, full resolution of the symptoms, and no medications taken for more than 24 hours, as per ESPNCricinfo.

Following strict regulations becomes necessary during this time. Thus, serology tests and repeat RT-PCR tests may also be conducted to account for any false-positive tests resulting from the historical infections. In total, 14 biosecure bubbles are to be formed for the IPL. Eight team bubbles, three for match officials and the other three for broadcasters and the commentators.

IPL 2021 is set to commence from September 19 in UAE

Owing to the surge of the Covid-19 cases, the IPL was shifted to UAE. Now, the second leg of the tournament is all set to kickstart next month. The BCCI had previously asked all the franchises to ensure that everybody heading to the UAE has completed their vaccination process. The bubble to bubble transfer for players coming from the England-India series, CPL, and the South Africa-Sri Lanka tour was also allowed.

For the first match of the second leg of the IPL, Chennai Super Kings will lock horns against their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians. The former has had a splendid run in the tournament so far. However, when the two teams faced each other previously in the first leg in India, Kieron Pollard had played a stunner of an innings to sail the team to the finish line.
