Pranav Dhanawade had become a household name earlier this year due to his heroics in school cricket. The wonder boy from Mumbai had become the first batsman to score 1000 runs in an innings. The year of 2016 had started off in a dream fashion for the young kid. However, the end is turning out to be a sour one.

In a recent tweet from the Associate Editor of ABP news, it was revealed that Dhanawade was arrested by the Mumbai police for staging a protest. As the tweet suggests, the Mumbai lad was arrested as he was protesting against the conversion of his ground into a helipad. No cricketer would ever want to his area of play being turned into a concrete structure.

Hence, it does not come as a surprise as to why Dhanawade opted to protest against the construction of the helipad at his play arena. The tweet from the Associate Editor of the elite news channel read, “Pranav Dhanawade, boy who scored 1000 runs in school cricket arrested for staging protest against converting his  ground into helipad.”

The cricket fans would hope that the young boy gets relief soon in the case and does not land in any serious issue. It will be in the betterment of the game if the boy spends more time on the playground than doing his rounds with the officials who arrested him.

Earlier, in the first week of January 2016, he hit a hardly-believable score of 1009 not out against Arya Gurukul School, Kalyan to break 116-year-old batting record on the opening day of the U-16 HT Bhandari Trophy Inter-School Cricket Tournament. He brought up his 1000th run with a six at long-on. His innings was studded with 124 boundaries and 59 sixes.

The team declared their innings on 1465 after the batsman had scored 1009 runs from 323 balls with a strike rate of 312.38, he stood at the crease for 395 minutes. Pranav had finished day one on 652 not out after hitting 82 fours and 42 sixes for KC Gandhi School against Arya Gurukul School. Only two individuals have managed to make 600-plus scores in the entire cricket history, which is nearly 300 years old!
