Pakistan made full usage of winning the toss in the 4th ODI after reducing the hosts Zimbabwe to low scores in the previous two matches. Fakhar Zaman, accompanied by Imam-ul-Haq, didn’t spare at the toothless Zimbabwe bowling on their way to a record total. The pair shared a world record partnership of 304 runs before Imam got out for 113 runs. Fakhar went on to score an unbeaten 210 while Asif Ali’s 22-ball fifty helped Pakistan to finish on 399/1 in their 50 overs.

All the major stats and numbers created during Pakistan’s record tumbling spree over Zimbabwe:

1 – Fakhar Zaman’s unbeaten 210 is the first ever double century for Pakistan in ODI cricket. The previous highest individual ODI score for Pakistan was 194 by Saeed Anwar in 1997 against India.

Fakhar’s 210* is also the highest List A individual score by a Pakistan player surpassing Abid Ali’s 209* during the 2017/18 Pakistan domestic One-Day tournament.


3 – Pakistan are only the 3rd side to play full 50 overs for the loss of only one wicket. Sri Lanka in the 2013 Tri-Series game against India (348/1) and in the 2015 World Cup against Bangladesh (332/1) batted full 50 overs losing only one wicket.

Windies (194/1 in 51.3) against India in the 1979 Birmingham ODI and England (194/1 in 50.1) also against India in the 1982 Leeds ODI played more than 50 overs which were ODI of more than 50 overs.


8 – Number of innings Imam-ul-Haq needed to score hit his 3rd century in ODI cricket. He is the quickest to score three ODI centuries surpassing the record held by England’s Kevin Pietersen and Dennis Amiss in nine innings.


244 – Pakistan’s 244-run win is their 2nd biggest ODI win behind the 255-run win over Ireland in the 2016 Dublin ODI.

This is also the 2nd biggest defeat in terms of runs for Zimbabwe behind the 272-run loss also while chasing 400 against South Africa in the 2010 Benoni ODI.


304 – Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq’s 304-run stand is the first ever triple century opening stand in Men’s cricket. India’s Deepti Sharma and Punam Raut added 320 for the opening wicket against Ireland Women in the last year’s Potchefstroom ODI. The previous highest opening partnership in Men’s ODIs was 286 between Sanath Jayasuriya and Upul Tharanga in the 2006 Leeds ODI against England.


304 – The 304-run opening stand is Pakistan’s highest partnership for any wicket in ODI cricket. The pair surpassed Aamer Sohail and Inzamam-ul-Haq’s 263-run partnership for the 2nd wicket in the 1994 Sharjah ODI against New Zealand. Pakistan’s previous highest opening partnership was Imran Farhat and Mohammad Hafeez’s unbeaten 228-run stand in the 2011 Harare ODI against Zimbabwe.


399/1 – Pakistan’s 399/1 is the highest total in ODI format for the loss of only one wicket. India’s 362/1 during a chase against Australia in the 2013 Jaipur ODI was the previous highest ODI total for the loss of one or fewer wickets.


 

399/1 – Pakistan’s total of 399/1 is their highest total in ODI format surpassing 385/7 which they scored against Bangladesh during the 2010 Asia Cup game in Dambulla.
