Peter Fulton, Famously knows as “Two-Metre Peter” made his mark in first-class cricket when he scored 301 not out for Canterbury against Auckland in March 2003. It was a matter of time for him to get selected for representing New Zealand in international cricket. Fulton made his one-day international debut against Bangladesh in 2004 followed by his test debut in 2006.

After being overlooked for New Zealand’s initial World Cup matches in 2007, Fulton got his chance when Lou Vincent flew home. Fulton grabbed the chance and became the top scorer of New Zealand team three times, including 62 against India. He finished the tournament as the third highest scorer of his side with 297 at 37.12. Thereafter, a knee injury and inconsistent form kept him out of the national side, until he returned with a bang in 2013.

His first stint in Test wasn’t that impressive and so made the most when he returned to international cricket. In the three-Test home series against England, Fulton scored centuries in each innings of the third test. This series reestablished his credentials in the true sense as before this Fulton’s highest test score was just 75 in 19 tests innings.
