Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali has acknowledged his recent performances in the international arena but emphasized that a few bad performances cannot decide his future. At present, the right-handed pacer is in England to play the County Championship and is playing for Lancashire.

Talking about Hasan Ali’s numbers in international cricket, the right-arm pacer has played 58 ODIs for his country and has scalped a total of 89 wickets. In T20Is, he has taken 60 wickets in 49 games at an average of 23.15. In the longest format of the game, Hasan Ali has played 19 Test matches and scalped 74 wickets at an average of 23.60. He also has 10 five-wicket hauls across formats in the international arena.

Overall, I have performed well in all formats: Hasan Ali

However, Hasan Ali’s recent performances have not been up to the mark. Ever since he dropped Matthew Wade’s catch in the T20 World Cup semi-final, the cricketer has come under the scanner a lot. Speaking in an interview with Cricket Pakistan, he said, “Overall, I have performed well in all formats. If I see, I am the second-best bowler on the national team since my debut if not the first.

“A player cannot perform in every match or series, in the past, many great cricketers have faced criticism during their careers, hard work and effort are in my hands, I will try to rectify my shortcomings.”

The right-arm pacer also said that Pakistan captain Babar Azam has backed him despite his poor form. Hasan Ali also added that he was mentally dejected after he dropped that infamous catch of Australian batter Matthew Wade during the 2021 T20 World Cup semi-final. He also felt that it is not right to target a player’s family when criticizing a player for their performances.

Babar Azam knows I am a fighter and this is why he supports me. Criticism by the fans of dropping a catch in the T20 World Cup semi-final is justified, I could not sleep for two nights as the Pakistan team was playing so well and could not reach the final because of me but it is not right to target families,” he added.
