The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently brought up their 7 millionth follower on Twitter. After BCCI, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Cricket South Africa (CSA) have the most number of followers on Twitter.
1. BCCI (7.85 million followers)
The Indian Cricket Board seems miles away from the rest of the boards on the basis of following on Twitter. Formed in 1928, it is a consortium of a number of State Boards of association. It is responsible for producing stalwarts one after the other through almost 6 decades now. BCCI boasts the World Cup of 1983, 2011 and T20 WC of 2007. The passion for cricket for fans in India can only be challenged by the fans of their neighbors on the east, Bangladesh . The team has improved leaps in bounds in the last few years in all formats of the game especially in ODIs. They have performed exceedingly well in the last edition of the Champions Trophy and World Cup as the Tigers reached the quarter-finals and the semi-finals of the competition respectively.
