India all-rounder Hardik Pandya never really stays away from making news. On the field, his ability to win games single-handedly has sparked off debates all around the globe. Many cricket fanatics find similarity in him and legendary former Indian skipper Kapil Dev while a certain section of fans believes that he can be as great as South Africa’s Jacques Kallis.

The 24-year old cricketer never lacks the confidence. He likes sporting fancy haircuts and wearing glittering ornaments. Known for his flashy sense of style, Pandya’s lifestyle has often been compared to some of the West Indies cricketers. The cricketer had earlier revealed that he and his family had to counter financial issues and somehow he failed to go past IX standard when it comes to education.

Pandya slams his school

The cricketer took a jibe at his ‘premium school’ and revealed that the management took a U-turn after promising that the school would support the cricketer with free education. He also said that the school had ensured that he would pass the exams and just needs to focus on cricket.

“A school that claimed to have great interest in cricket asked me to join it to improve its cricket team. It is a big school and we couldn’t afford it, but the school said they will take care of my fees and all. They said they will ensure I pass the exams and I just needed to keep performing for the Under-16 school team. And we lost in the first round of the school’s tournament. All of a sudden they changed their stand. They started demanding fees,” Pandya told the “Sportstar Live”.

He also added that he won’t name the school and in the process give them free publicity on being associated with the cricketer.”It was a premium school and we just couldn’t afford the fees. They said they cannot promote me from Standard IX, so we waited for a year. And the next year, it was the same story, so I quit the school. Anyway, I didn’t have much interest in studies, plus I was bad as well. I would have liked to mention the name of the school, but I won’t. No free publicity to anyone!”
