Delhi Capitals’ playoff push depends heavily on Sameer Rizvi. Batting as an Impact Player at number four, he has already scored 160 runs in two innings.
Against Lucknow Super Giants, Rizvi scored 70 not out and built a 119-run partnership with Tristan Stubbs. Against Mumbai Indians, he scored 90 off 51 balls, one of the highest Impact Player scores in IPL history.
| Key Stat | Detail |
|---|---|
| Most sixes vs MI (DC batter) | Rizvi equalled record with 7 sixes |
| Previous record holders | Rishabh Pant (2019), Tristan Stubbs (2024) |
The concern is structural. Delhi’s NRR of +1.170 is significantly behind RCB. Their wins have depended heavily on Rizvi’s performances.
With tougher fixtures ahead against SRH, RCB, and Rajasthan Royals, the team’s depth will be tested. Rizvi must maintain consistency for DC to remain in contention.
