The inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 has fans buzzing with excitement as the tournament is scheduled to begin on March 4. Mumbai Indians will be going up against Gujarat Giants in the season opener of the tournament.

BCCI will hope that the WPL could have a similar impact on women’s cricket as the IPL has had on men’s. The owners of the franchises have a huge role to play in the team’s success as well. With the WPL season set to begin on March 4, let us have a look at the owners of all five franchises.

5. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB-W) - United Spirits

One of the most popular franchises, Royal Challengers Bangalore, have no shortage of fans or star players. They are currently owned by United Spirits Limited, and Prathamesh Mishra is the current chairman of the team.

Going into the WPL, RCB-W will be led by ace Indian batter Smriti Mandhana, and the team also boasts an impressive line-up with the likes of Ellyse Perry, Richa Ghosh, and Erin Burns.

The team will be mentored by tennis great Sania Mirza as they look to win the coveted title. In their first match of the season, they will take on Delhi Capitals on March 5.
