Former India captain Virat Kohli is training very hard as he aims to lift his maiden ICC T20 World Cup trophy in Australia. After suffering from a poor run-of-form for quite some time, the run-machine is once again back at his natural best as he played some memorable knocks in the Asia Cup and then against Australia and South Africa in the bilateral series at home.

At a time when his position in the starting XI was questioned, Virat chose to remain calm and practise harder to return back to form - something he’s still doing despite playing some good cricket lately.

In preparation for the all-important trophy, the 33-year-old batter is putting in extra hours into practice. In a recent video, it can be seen that the cricketer exceeded the time limit allotted for his practice and is heard saying that he’ll practise until Deepak Hooda (the next batter) joins for practice.

“Virat, your time is up,” said one of the support staff members.

“Hooda ayega, toh mein chala jaunga (When Hooda comes, I'll leave),” Kohli can be heard telling the support staff member.

Kohli, who’s known for his dedication and passion for the game, didn’t play any of the warm-up matches that India played against Western Australia in Perth. He, however, can take part in India’s two warm-up games against Australia (October 17) and New Zealand (October 19) before their journey to the final begins against Pakistan on October 23.

Team India arrives in Brisbane ahead of their practice matches

After a disappointing second T20 practice match against Western Australia in Perth, the Rohit Sharma-led side has now reached Brisbane for their warm-up matches against Australia and New Zealand. The official Twitter handle of the BCCI shared the video of the team receiving a warm welcome from the fans.

Team India will reunite with Mohammed Shami in Brisbane as the speedster has replaced the injured Jasprit Bumrah in the squad.
