IPL 2024: Avesh Khan reveals he's most afraid of Royal Challengers Bangalore fans

The Indian Premier League 2024 is just three days away as Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore are all set to take on each other in the opening fixture of the tournament on Friday, March 22 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Ahead of the season, all ten franchises are finalizing their preparations and are even engaging with their fans through social media activities.

Recently, India and Rajasthan Royals seamer, Avesh Khan got involved in a fun Q&A session where he revealed he’s scared of RCB fans the most. Notably, Avesh did an aggressive celebration by throwing his helmet following Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) thrilling last ball win over RCB at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Following the incident, he was subjected to trolling by several fans on social media while a few experts also criticized his celebration.

Notably, following Avesh Khan and LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir's aggressive celebration. Star batter Virat Kohli was pumped up in the next fixture between the two teams in Lucknow where RCB avenged their loss and emerged victorious by 18 runs.

Meanwhile, ahead of the upcoming season, Avesh was traded from his old team LSG to Rajasthan Royals for his existing fee (INR 10 Crore). The right-arm seamer was bought by Lucknow in the 2022 mega auction and had a memorable season with the ball picking 18 wickets from 13 matches at an average of 23.11. However, he failed to replicate his magic in the 2023 edition and picked just eight wickets from nine matches at an average of 35.38.

RR and LSG will take on each other in their first game of IPL 2024

In his IPL career so far, Avesh has picked 55 wickets from 47 matches at an average of 26.33 with one four-wicket haul to his name. In his place, LSG traded Devdutt Padikkal from Rajasthan Royals. The left-handed batter had a decent season with the bat for Rajasthan in 2023 scoring 261 runs from 11 innings at an average of 26.10 and a strike rate of 130.50 with two fifties to his name.

Padikkal has scored 1521 runs from 57 matches in his IPL career at an average of 27.65 and a strike rate of 125.39 with one hundred and nine fifties to his name. Both Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants will start their campaign against each other in IPL 2024 on Sunday, March 24.
