T20 World Cup 2022: Where to Watch the Qualifiers on TV, Online, and Live Streaming Details in India

The eighth edition of the T20 World Cup beckons as Sri Lanka takes on Namibia on the 16th of October in the first official game of this year's edition. But before we indulge in the almost month-long cricket carnival let's dive into the schematics of this year's tournament.

The 2022 T20 World Cup is 'the biggest and and the best yet', as per ICC. The reason behind it is that the competition will include 16 nations playing 45 matches across seven Australian cities. The participating 16 nations will take part in the competition in two stages, the initial Group Stage will see eight teams fight it out for four spots in the Super 12 stage of the competition.

The initial Group Stage comprises two groups of four; Namibia, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and United Arab Emirates in Group A, while, Ireland, Scotland, West Indies, and Zimbabwe in Group B. The two top teams from each group will qualify for the Sup[er 12 stages after facing all the other three teams in their respective groups.

Asian champions Sri Lanka and two-time winner of the competition West Indies are the two favorites to qualify for the main tournament, while Zimbabwe and Ireland are not too far behind in contention for the other two spots. Sri Lanka will kick off the Group Stage by taking on minnows Namibia in the first match of the tournament.

The ICC mega event will be televised and live-streamed by Star Network, Sky Sports, Fox Sports, ESPN, PTV, and Times Internet among several others. Meanwhile, Star Network will also have television rights in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.
