The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2023 is all set to begin on Monday, June 12. The tournament will be played for exactly one month, with the final scheduled to be played on July 12. A total of eight teams will face off against in a round-robin format before clashing in the knockout stages of the competition. 

In a format very similar to that of the Indian Premier League (IPL), as many as 32 games will be played throughout the tournament, including the knockouts. The top four teams by the end of the league stage will make it to the playoffs, where they will participate in Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and the Final.

The top two teams will play Qualifier 1, where the winner will make their way to the summit clash, and the loser will make their way into Qualifer 2. The Eliminator will be a clash between the third and fourth-placed teams, and the winner will compete in the second qualifier for a spot in the TNPL 2023 final.

The TNPL 2022 season ended in an abrupt manner as the summit clash of the competition was abandoned due to rain, with both the finalists, Lyca Kovai Kings and Chepauk Super Gillies, being declared joint winners.
