3 Indian players who should be dropped after T20 World Cup
India came into the T20 World Cup 2026 on the back of splendid form. Since Suryakumar Yadav took up captaincy, the Men in Blue have not lost a T20I series. They won all four games in the group stage.

1. Sanju Samson
Sanju Samson formed a great partnership with Abhishek Sharma, but that didn't last long. The wicketkeeper-batter had been shuffled around in the batting order since the Asia Cup in September last year. He batted down the order, moved up to the middle, and against New Zealand in the series that preceded the T20 World Cup, he returned to opening the batting.
However, his rhythm had clearly been disrupted. Against the Kiwis, he only managed 46 runs in five innings and lost his opening slot to Ishan Kishan. Samson did play the game against Namibia in the group stage when Abhishek was recovering from illness. The wicketkeeper-batter did score 22 off eight balls but couldn't convert his start into a substantial score.
