The gigantic Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad, is going to be packed to the rafters when India take on Australia in the summit clash of the ODI World Cup 2023 on Sunday, November 19. Team India have the chance to become the first team after Australia to win the coveted title on more than a couple of occasions.

Meanwhile, Pat Cummins and Co. would aim to win a record-extending sixth title. This mouth-watering encounter will take the '90s kids on a nostalgia trip to the iconic 2003 World Cup final when Australia defeated India by 125 runs in Johannesburg. The 'Men in Blue' have looked invincible, winning all 10 matches they have played so far in the tournament. In the semi-finals, they amassed 397/4 in their 50 overs before dismissing New Zealand for 327, in Mumbai, on Wednesday, November 15.

Now speaking of skipper Rohit Sharma, the 'Hitman' has led from the front, scoring 550 runs in 10 games, at an average of 55 and a strike rate of 124.15. His blitzkrieg at the top has given the middle order ample time to assess the conditions and play according to the match situations. Virat Kohli has been in exemplary form, accumulating a record 711 runs at a staggering average of 101.57. Shreyas Iyer will head into the finals on the back of two consecutive centuries. He has already scored the most number of runs by a No. 4 batter in the history of World Cups.

On the bowling front, Mohammed Shami has been operating at a different level altogether. He has picked up 23 wickets in six games at a mind-boggling average of 9.13. The 33-year-old finished with a seven-wicket haul in the semifinals and was awarded Player of the Match in a game in which 724 runs were scored. Jasprit Bumrah has also supported his fellow seamer to a nicety, bagging 18 wickets in 10 games at 18.33.

Australia have produced a turnaround for the ages as they were written off by many when they lost their first couple of matches. However, they bounced back strongly and are currently on an eight-match winning streak. They eked out a memorable three-wicket win in the semifinal against South Africa on Thursday at Eden Gardens, in Kolkata.

David Warner has been the wrecker-in-chief for the Aussies. The diminutive cricketer has scored 528 runs in 10 games at an average of 52.80 and a strike rate of 107.54. Mitchell Marsh has also been in fine form, amassing 426 runs in nine games at 53.25. Glenn Maxwell, who played the innings of the tournament against Afghanistan, has scored 398 runs at an average of 66.33.

The swashbuckling batter might not fire in every match but when he does, it is hard to contain him. His strike rate of 150.19 in the showpiece event. Hence, it is safe to say that Zampa surely exhibits the kind of threat he is for any opposition.

Adam Zampa has been the most effective bowler for the 'Men in Yellow'. The leg-spinner is only behind Shami in the wickets column, as he has bagged 22 wickets at 21.41 in 10 games. Zampa has picked up crucial wickets in the middle overs and has been quite difficult to attack.

IND vs AUS Pitch and Conditions

The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has hosted four games so far in the ODI World Cup 2023. Three games have been won by the chasing team, while only once has a team emerged victorious after batting first. The average score batting first is 250. The captain that wins the toss would be inclined to batting second. Under the lights, the ball comes nicely onto the bat and if dew comes into play, it will only aid the team batting second.

IND vs AUS, Probable Playing XIs for ODI World Cup 2023, Final

India

The Indian team management has shown their belief in continuity as they have not made a change to their playing XI since Mohammed Shami and Suryakumar Yadav came into the side in place of Shardul Thakur and the injured Hardik Pandya in the league game against New Zealand. Barring a last-minute niggle, India are expected to stick to the same XI once again.

India Predicted XI:

Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (WK), Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj

Australia

Australia decided to back Marnus Labuschagne ahead of Marcus Stoinis for the semifinals. The all-rounder scored just 87 runs in the five innings he played at a paltry average of 21.75. Australia had no other choice but to bring in Labuschagne, who has had a much better campaign thus far. The 29-year-old was out for 18 in the semifinals but he should get the nod once again as the Aussies are expected to stick to the same XI that played against the Proteas.

Australia Predicted XI:

Travis Head, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Steven Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Inglis (WK), Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins (C), Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood
