Women's T20 World Cup 2026

The Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 is set to begin on June 12 in England, with the final scheduled to take place on July 5 at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground. This prestigious tournament continues to be one of the biggest events in women’s cricket, bringing together top teams from around the world.

The Women’s T20 World Cup was first held in 2009, with the inaugural edition also hosted in England. Initially, the tournament featured eight teams for the first three editions. However, it expanded to 10 teams from the 2014 edition, reflecting the growing popularity and competitiveness of the sport. For the 2026 edition, the tournament will further expand to 12 teams, marking a significant step in global representation.

Qualification for the tournament includes automatic spots for top-performing teams, while others secure their place through the Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier. As of 2024, nine editions of the tournament have been completed. Australia Women are the most successful side in the tournament’s history, having won six titles. Meanwhile, England Women, West Indies Women, and New Zealand Women have each won one title. New Zealand are the defending champions, having claimed their maiden title in 2024 by defeating South Africa in the final. In terms of overall performance, Australia boasts the highest win percentage, followed by England and New Zealand
