Delhi Capitals (DC), after losing the first four games will travel to Bengaluru as they lock horns against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the match number 20 of Indina Premier League 2023 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on 15th April 2023.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will be coming into the contest after suffering a marginal defeat on the hands of Lucknow Super Giants courtesy of sublime masterclass hitting from ruthless Nicholas Pooran. From an emphatic eight wicket win, to being hammered by a margin of 81 runs against KKR, to losing the third game by the barest of margins in a high scoring affair, summarizes the journey of RCB so far in this tournament.

As far as batting is concerned Bangalore have been brilliant, their big three who they relied on have stepped-up when they were needed the most. Bowling department needs lot of work to be done so as to progress better in the upcoming days. RCB’s top spinner Wanindu Hasaranga will make a return to the team in the next game to spearhead the bowling department, his presence will certainly boost the balance in the poor-looking bowling unit. RCB will look to bounce back to winning ways.

Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, will be coming into the contest after suffering four consecutive losses in the tournament. Delhi’s dressing room will be very much worried about the performances in both the department. Axar Patel and David Warner are the two players who stepped-up with the bat so far, Warner has aggregated 209 runs in as many as four games with a stupendous average of 52.25, due to regular fall of wickets at one end for Delhi the strike rate of Warner hasn’t been impressive.

Axar Patel played some impressive cameos down the order, he scored his maiden fifty in the last game that came in just 22 balls. In the bowling department, Mukesh Kumar was pretty decent for DC in his debut season, he picked up four wickets in as many as four matches but was way too expensive in his spell with economy of over 10. Delhi might bring in Mitchell Marsh in the next game against RCB and would be expecting him to deliver big so as to progress well in this tournament.

RCB vs DC Strategy and Match-ups

Both Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis have struggled against Axar Patel, as du Plessis has been dismissed thrice against Axar in 71 balls and has scored 79 runs, whereas Kohli has struck at 113.8 against him and has been dismissed once, which would tempt David Warner to ploy with Axar Patel early on in the powerplay to counter the openers along with Anrich Nortje.

Glenn Maxwell has smacked 59 runs against the likes of Kuldeep Yadav in as many as 21 balls but has been dismissed thrice in same number of balls. Mohammed Siraj has dismissed Prithvi Shaw thrice in 27 balls, and at the same time has leaked 41 runs. Another interesting battle is between David Warner and Glenn Maxwell, Warner has been dismissed once against Maxwell in 32 balls he faced and has struck at 121.9 with 15 dot balls, and hence Faf du Plessis might use Maxwell early on in the powerplay to counter the openers.
