India had kept their T20I series winning streak intact by defeating England in the 3-match series by 2-1 that went down to the final game in Bristol where India registered a comfortable seven-wicket win. The series began with England failing to pick Kuldeep Yadav while KL Rahul and co smashed down the England bowlers. The hosts ticked both the boxes in the 2nd game to level the series but couldn’t stop Rohit Sharma and the Indian batsmen chasing down a big score in the decider.
Here we look at five interesting records that were created and broken during this 3-match T20I series:
1. Two centurions in a series
If KL Rahul started the series with an unbeaten ton, Rohit Sharma finished with an unbeaten hundred to help India to clinch the series. This is only the 7th series/tournament in T20I cricket where two individuals scored centuries but only the second time where both of them are from the same team.
South Africa’s Faf du Plessis and Morne van Wyk scored hundred in the 2015 home T20I series against Windies. Evin Lewis and Rahul scored tons in the 2016 T20I series game in the USA while four editions of WT20 had two different individuals scoring centuries.
