The Test series between India and England is nicely set up now. The visitors are flying high after a near perfect outing at Trent Bridge and it seems that the team is finally settled. The team, however, was announced only for the first three Test matches and the selectors will be picking the squad for the last two games on Thursday. It is very much likely that Murali Vijay will be dropped after a string of poor scores.

According to the reports in ABP News, Prithvi Shaw will be picked in place of him for his brilliant performances in the domestic circuit and for India A. Also, Hanuma Vihari will be awarded for his consistency and is set to travel England for the last two Test matches. Unfortunately, it seems that there is still no place for Mayank Agarwal who has raked up runs in the domestic arena. Though the visitors have copped a huge blow with an injury to Ravi Ashwin and he will be travelling back home.

Who will replace Ashwin in the team?

Despite the fact that Shaw and Vihari will make it to the team, it remains to be seen who replaces Ashwin who has bowled superbly in this series. He started the series by picking 4 wickets and has held one end since then to allow the fast bowler to regain their breath. He was the one who finished the proceedings on the final day by picking the wicket of James Anderson.

But if his injury is serious and has to return back home, the likeliest member to replace him would be Ravindra Jadeja who hasn’t played in a Test outside Asia for a long time now. He has been consistently used as a substitute fielder but the left-arm spinner will be keen to make a difference with the series in the balance now.

The fourth Test match will commence on August 30 and will be played in Southampton at the Ageas Bowl and India will be keen to level the series.
