Delhi Daredevils (DD) have signed South African pace sensation Junior Dala for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season. They are currently languishing at the bottom of the points table as they have won only a solitary game after playing 6 matches. The skipper Gautam Gambhir has also stepped down from the helm to worsen the things and Shreyas Iyer has been appointed as the new skipper for the remainder of the tournament. However, Dala’s inclusion to the squad will bring new energy to their team.

Dala had made his international debut against India in February and went on to play all the three T20Is of the series. He also troubled Rohit Sharma in all the matches and went on to scalp his wicket in every game. Though he was expensive and conceded more than 9 runs per over, Dala picked 7 wickets which impressed everyone. He generates fiery pace and can hurry the batsman on any given day.

Titans president confirm the news

John Wright, the President of Northerns Cricket Union, confirmed the news and congratulated Junior Dala for being signed by Delhi Daredevils franchise. “Congratulations @JDala3 on your call up to the @DelhiDaredevils @IPL. Good luck @Titans_Cricket,” he tweeted. Nothing is officially from the franchise though but it is expected to be announced soon. Also, it will be interesting to see which overseas player of Delhi has got injured this time around.

Jason Roy and Chris Morris didn’t play the last game against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) for DD and the skipper Gambhir had informed at the toss that both were injured. Delhi will play their next game on Friday against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Ferozshah Kotla Stadium which is their second home game of the season.
