The defending champions Mumbai Indians played themselves down in the tournament losing six out of the eight matches and are on the brink of being eliminated from the league stage. They now need to win their remaining six matches to qualify for the playoffs or at least five wins with other results going their way. The game will be Kings XI Punjab’s first in eight days after their loss against SRH in a low scoring encounter. This match will be first of the four home matches for Kings XI at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.
