The South African was bought by the Delhi Capitals for an amount of Rs 6.4 crores as he became the most expensive foreign player of the season in the auction. Much was expected of this 33-year-old but runs just did not seem coming from him. Colin Ingram was used in the middle-order by DC and looked at him as someone who finishes the innings while also plays the anchoring role if needed.

But the T20 veteran struggled to play spin and the Capitals botched up winning positions in few matches. He could only muster 184 runs with an average of only 18.4 this year. He couldn’t score even a half-century during the course of the 12 innings in which he batted and the Capitals might ponder over getting a better batsman than him next season to strengthen their middle-order.
