The Royal Challengers Bangalore’s wait to register their first win of the season continues as the Rajasthan Royals got their first by defeating RCB by a 7-wicket margin. The leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal’s spell played a crucial role in restricting the visitors to 158/4 despite a 41-ball 67 from Parthiv Patel at the top. Jos Buttler’s 43-ball 59 made the 159-run chase easier which the Rajasthan franchise completed on the penultimate ball of the game.

All the major stats and numbers recorded during RCB’s 4th consecutive defeat of the season:

RCB’s worst ever:

5 – The Royal Challengers Bangalore now have lost each of their last five matches in the IPL starting from their last league match of 2018. This is RCB’s joint 2nd longest losing streak in the IPL. They lost six consecutive matches during the 2017 edition and also lost five in a row during the inaugural 2008 season.

Gopal continues his good record against RCB:

2 – For the 2nd time in his IPL career, Shreyas Gopal dismissed both AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli in the same game. He dismissed the duo during the last year’s game in Bangalore. He is one of the 17 players to dismiss both Kohli and ABD in the same game but only next to Ashish Nehra to record two such instances.

3 – Shreyas Gopal has dismissed de Villiers on all the three times they faced off in the IPL. Gopal conceded only 21 runs in the 27 balls he bowled to the South African. AB de Villiers (3) and Kohli (2) are the only players whom Gopal has dismissed more than once in the IPL.

5.6 – Gopal has a bowling average of 5.6 in the IPL against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the three matches he played against RCB, Gopal bagged nine wickets for 50 runs which he conceded runs at an economy of 4.2.

A milestone game for Kohli:

100 – This game is the 100th game as captain for Virat Kohli in the IPL; all for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He is the 3rd player with 100 IPL matches as captain after MS Dhoni (162) and Gautam Gambhir (129).

Parthiv @ 4000:

4010 – Parthiv Patel completed 4000 runs in his Twenty20 career when he went past his individual score of 57 in this game. He is the 87th player and the 16th from India to achieve this milestone. Shahid Afridi (18.47) and Shakib Al Hasan (21.03) are the only players to score 4000+ T20 runs at an average lesser than Parthiv.
