IPL 2020: Match 20, MI vs RR – Match Impact Ratings

It took 20 matches for IPL 2020 to witness a team complete a hat-trick of wins as Mumbai Indians, on Tuesday, raced to their 3rd win in a row with their 57-run against Rajasthan Royals. The strategies of MI have been working pretty well as they won four of the five matches while batting first. Against Royals too, Mumbai Indians won the toss and posted a huge total of 193/4 on the board which was big too high against the Royals who have been dependent on their top-order through the tournament.

Suryakumar Yadav came up with a special knock to keep MI’s streak of 190+ totals intact with an unbeaten 79 off 47 deliveries which included 11 fours and two sixes. Surya’s innings was the real deal as he got runs upfront, during the middle overs where runs got dried up and at the death where even Hardik couldn’t bat as freely as he does. This helped Surya earn an impact rating of 22.10 which is the highest for any player in the MI vs RR match as per CricTracker’s Match Impact Ratings.

The likes of Quinton de Kock, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya scored runs at 150+ strike rate for MI helping them to earn positive impact rating. The Mumbai Indians’ pace battery starred yet again claiming eight wickets between them. The leader of the attack, Jasprit Bumrah took a 4-wicket haul and got an impact rating of 10.29. The overseas pacers Trent Boult and James Pattinson claimed a couple of wickets each which earned them an impact of 8.35 and 7.85 respectively.

Krunal Pandya had the worst returns from the MI vs RR game across both the teams as his 17-ball 12 and 22 runs off two overs earned him a negative impact rating of -12.55. For Rajasthan Royals, only Jos Buttler (70) and Jofra Archer (24) scored runs at 100+ strike rate in the chase and hence were the only players with a positive batting impact. Buttler earned an impact rating of 19.45 while Archer got 12.52 for his all-round efforts which include his performance with the ball.
