It looks like the COVID is affecting the preparations of a few IPL teams. In the series of players who are infected by the virus, the latest name to join the list is Daniel Sams. The Aussie all-rounder has been tested positive for COVID-19 as per RCB. This is a major shock because Sams is a talented all-rounder and could have been an asset to RCB’s plans.

As per RCB, Sams tested negative on April 3rd in Chennai. But, on the 7th of April, he tested positive. Currently, Sams is asymptomatic and now will be monitored by the RCB team. He has to follow the BCCI health protocols. He is now quarantined in his hotel room and his fellow teammates Zampa and Richardson are yet to arrive in India to join the squad.

This opens up a spot in the probable RCB playing eleven. The all-rounder might miss a few games and hence the management can look forward to including an overseas player in the squad. As RCB has a strong bench strength, captain Kohli has a variety of options to choose from.

Here are three Players who can replace Daniel Sams in RCB’s XI

3. Finn Allen

Finn Allen is the newest addition to the fearless Kiwi squad. Recently, he scored a magnificent 71 from 29 balls to destroy the Bangladeshi attack. As Finn plays with such freedom, he might get a chance in the playing eleven. It is almost certain that Virat Kohli will open the innings for RCB and with Finn Allen at the top, it should be an exciting combination to watch.

As Finn went after the bowlers during his knock of 71, he smashed ten fours and three sixes. Adding on, he scored his half-century off just 18 balls. This is a record as this was the second joint-fastest fifty by a New Zealander. Therefore, with the absence of Sams, it is more of an opportunity for the RCB management to look for strengthening their batting.

Maxwell can bowl four overs if required. Hence, to cover up the bowling department, Maxwell is qualified enough to fill in the shoes of Sams. Even though Finn has played only three T20Is, his approach to the game is exciting. Hence, with a strike rate of 220, he is one of the contenders as a cover-up option for Sams.
