IPL 2022: Arjun Tendulkar rattles MI batter with a searing yorker in practice session

In the latest video posted by Mumbai Indians (MI) official YouTube account, the bowling all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar delivered an accurate yorker to the MI batter and rattled his stumps. It was an unplayable delivery, which breached the defence of the batter. It again came into notice that Arjun can bowl with a decent speed as well.

In no time, the video has gone viral and has been shared on various social media platforms. The fans are already urging the team management to provide an opportunity for Arjun to showcase his talent in the upcoming matches. Ahead of the game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), the official Twitter account had posted a photo tweet of Arjun, which made way for the fan’s speculations about him making his debut for the team.

The Mumbai Indians captioned the Twitter post as, “You ain’t missing the target if your name is Arjun.”

At this moment, MI is languishing at bottom of the points table with no victories in six league matches. The team will face their arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 21 April at DY Patil Sports Complex. It remains to be seen if Arjun Tendulkar gets a chance to play in the marquee encounter.

Arjun was picked by MI for 30 Lakhs in IPL 2022 Auction

Arjun Tendulkar has been a net bowler for MI earlier, before he was picked by the franchise in the 2021 edition but did not feature for them even in a single fixture. In the IPL 2022 Auction, he was bought by MI for a price of INR 30 Lakhs. With the lackluster performances from MI bowlers, he is expected to get a few games under his belt this season

Arjun has been performing well in the tournaments, which feature the Mumbai state players like Shreyas Iyer, Dube, Sarfaraz Khan, and Tushar Deshpande as well. In Mumbai T20 League 2019, he returned as the costliest buy in the auction, wherein he fetched 5 Lakhs. In the two editions of the tournament, he has done well in both departments.

The former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin had also suggested MI to change their strategy in the upcoming matches to secure a much-needed victory in the IPL 2022 campaign. He felt that Tendulkar’s presence in the field might bring luck to the team.
