IPL victory will go along with my World Cup victories: Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh of India has been known as a match winner for a very long time now. Yuvraj Singh, a member of the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2007, World Cup 2011 where he was the player of the tournament, Under-19 World Cup. He had made valuable contributions in all of these tournaments. Yuvraj’s six sixes against Stuart Broad in the T20 World Cup 2007 still remain to be an iconic moment for India.

Yuvraj had featured from the first season of IPL but haven’t been in the champion side. This was the year for him, with the Sunrisers Hyderabad led by David Warner. They have been impressive from the start with their strong pace bowling unit and the in-form skipper. And it was a whole team effort to win three knockout matches to lift the trophy. Yuvraj scored a valuable 38 off 23 balls in the final against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

“It is an amazing feeling to win an IPL trophy. I have won the World Cups but never won an IPL trophy. I have been playing this tournament for eight years now but never won it. That moment has finally come,” Yuvraj was quoted as saying by on Sunday.

“I had never tasted the sweetness of an IPL trophy and this is something really amazing. At the moment, this trophy will go right on top in my trophy cabinet. This one will go along with my World Cup victories,” he added.

Ashish Nehra has been leading the bowling attack in earlier stages of the tournament but an injury kept him away from the side. Recently, Nehra had to undergo a knee surgery after he injured his leg. Soon after winning the match, Yuvraj took to the social platform to dedicate the victory to Ashish Nehra.
