Legends League Cricket Season 2 to be played in India instead of Oman

The second edition of the Legends League Cricket will now be played in India instead of Oman. The same was confirmed by the tournament organizers on July 23 (Saturday). According to the organizers, the decision has been taken due to the big fan base in the country.

The second edition of LLC is slated to start on September 20 with veteran players from nine other countries apart from India taking part in the tournament. However, the grounds for the tournament are yet to be decided and the final decision will be taken soon.

Raman Raheja, Co-Founder, and CEO, of Legends League Cricket, said, “We have been constantly receiving requests from fans to hold the series in India and we are excited to bring the Legends League second season back home. We have the maximum number of cricket fans here in India.”

“The first season had maximum viewership from India, followed by Pakistan and Sri Lanka followed by the rest of the world. We hope to give a better experience to our viewers and cricket enthusiasts. We are sure that the cricketing fans will rejoice in our decision to shift the base to India as the excitement of watching live cricket cannot be matched,” he added.

Several legends of the game who have contributed heavily to their country in the cricketing arena will be seen in action in the tournament. Prominent batters Virender Sehwag, Shane Watson, Eoin Morgan, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Muttiah Muralidaran, and Monty Panesar among others have confirmed their participation. Similarly, Harbhajan Singh, former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza, Denesh Ramdin, and Lendl Simmons have also given their availability for the upcoming T20 tournament.

There was some reports of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly taking part in the tournament. However, the left-handed batter had cleared that he will not be participating in the upcoming tournament.
