Chepauk Super Gillies (CSG) will face Idream Tiruppur Tamizhans (ITT) in the first qualifier of the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2025 on Tuesday, July 1, at the NPR College Ground in Dindigul. The Super Gillies finished in top place with seven wins in seven games. They became only the second team to win all seven games in the league stage of the tournament. The Tiruppur Tamizhans were in second position and won five out of seven matches.

The Super Gillies took on the Siechem Madurai Panthers in their previous outing and elected to bowl after winning the toss. The Madurai Panthers scored 156 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Vijay Shankar was the pick of the bowlers and took three wickets for 23 runs in four overs. The Super Gillies scored 114 runs for the loss of four wickets in 12.5 overs. The second innings got reduced to 14 overs due to an invasion of insects, and the Super Gillies got a target of 114 runs. The team won the match by six wickets (DLS method). Vijay Shankar remained unbeaten on 28 runs off 17 deliveries as well and won the Player of the Match award for his all-round performance.

The Tiruppur Tamizhans faced the Nellai Royal Kings in their last outing and scored 182 runs for the loss of five wickets. Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore made 55 runs off 34 deliveries and was the highest scorer for the team. In reply, the Royal Kings were bundled out for 113 runs and the Tiruppur Tamizhans won by 69 runs. T Natarajan was the most successful bowler for the Tiruppur Tamizhans and picked three wickets for 14 runs in four overs. Sai Kishore won the Player of the Match award for his performance.
