Today Pakistan cricket board (PCB) came out with an important announcement as they removed their skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed from T20Is and Tests. This news just came when they announced the squad for Australia tour. The dark clouds of eviction were moving around him for very long. And Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle has now given a distinct viewpoint on Sarfaraz being a cricketer and a skipper.

Under him, the last major success that came was back in 2017 when they lifted ICC Champions Trophy. But, after that, they have seriously hit with a poor form. In this year they faced an ODI series defeat against England, after that, they lost a practice match against Afghanistan and ended on 5th position in World Cup 2019.

Just coming from the mega event they lost their third T20I series in a row against weak Sri Lanka in their backyards. And after getting a clean sweep against islanders, PCB was forced to take such a stance looking for a better future of Pakistan cricket team.

Harsha Bhogle feels Sarfaraz Ahmed is a better cricketer than a skipper

Harsha Bhogle is a popular commentator and analyst. His next hobby is to stay active on social media where he is often seen giving his opinions over several topics, although he has faced some strong criticism over his opinion on several occasions. He feels that captaincy never looked a cup of tea for Sarfaraz but has always rated him a far better cricketer.

He took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “Maybe captaincy wasn’t his cup of tea but I always rated Sarfaraz as a cricketer. Huge pressure now on Babar Azam, already the best batsman, now captain too in limited-overs cricket.”

Here is a tweet from Indian commentator:

Men in green are at the number one position in the T20I team ranking. Babar Azam will take hold of Pakistan in T20Is in place of Sarfaraz whereas Azhar Ali is appointed as the skipper of Test squad. They are one of the two teams who are still to open their account in ICC Test Championship and their first match in the longer format will come against Australia starting on 21st November 2019.
