India thumped Australia in the third Test by 137 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the four-match series. They never let the home side come back in the game after putting up a huge first innings total on a pitch was deteriorating with every passing over. Soon after the game, Mitchell Johnson praised the Indian team and felt that Australia will have to fight now to level the series in Sydney. However, Harbhajan Singh feels that Australia has no chance now and India will win the contest by 3-1.

Australia’s batting has been a serious problem in this series so far with none of the top six scoring runs consistently. To make things worse, there is not even a single century from them and the likes of Usman Khawaja and Shaun Marsh who were expected to guide the inexperienced line-up, have failed to capitalise on starts. The lower-order including the skipper Tim Paine has shown some grit but the lack of runs from the top has been the main reason for Australia’s failure.

Bhajji wishes Happy New Year

“India just to good in all departments this Test, well done 2-1 to India means Australia will need to fight in Syd to stop India winning the series. Enjoy your New Years,” Johnson tweeted after the match. Though Harbhajan Singh seems to be ever so confident of an Indian victory in Sydney Test as well. He responded to Johnson’s tweet saying that the Aussie batting is too weak to sustain in front of the Indian bowlers and there is no chance for them to make a come back in the series now.

“Australia’s batting is to Fragile mate to put up fight in Sydney against this brilliant indian bowling line up .. it’s gonna be 3-1.. Happy new year,” Bhajji tweeted in response.

It will be interesting to see how the two teams stack up for the final Test match of the series which is set to commence on January 3. Team India, no doubt, will be high on confidence but Australia are known to give it back and will take heart from their performance in Perth.
