Since the late inception of the cricket game, the Pakistan team has had a blossoming habit of producing some of the finest and spectacular bowlers, who transformed this sport with their speed and intelligent minds. They have given the world legendary fast bowlers like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar and many others and the trend seems to be moving with rapid speed in the modern era too.
Another young Pakistani paceman Rumman Raees who has performed quite impressively since making his debut in the Champions Trophy 2017 semi-final match against England. Raees unleashed his gunning exploits in front of the world by bowling superbly during the middle overs and at the death which never allowed the English batsmen to run away with the game in that semi-final encounter.
He picked up two wickets in that match at an economy of less than 5 runs per over in his 9 overs. The paceman has played 9 ODIs and 8 T20Is for Pakistan in which he has claimed 14 and 8 wickets respectively.
Rumman wants the wickets of Kohli, Smith and de Villiers
After a splendid and effective start to his career in international cricket, Rumman wants to dismiss some of the best batsmen of the modern era of the game which includes Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Aussie captain Steve Smith and Proteas match-winner AB de Villiers.
He wants to make these three batsmen his future victims at the international level. But the fast bowler has been successful in picking up the wicket of one of the star batsmen in the modern era, Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson in their recent battles. The bowler also praised the New Zealand for his compact technique which causes a difficulty for the bowlers to get him out.
“I’m not here to issue a challenge but I hope to get the better of Kohli, Smith and AB de Villiers whenever I get a chance to bowl to them. It would be a great feeling. I still haven’t bowled to Steve Smith, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. But I have bowled to Kane Williamson. It’s very difficult to get him out. He has a very compact technique. But I managed to get him out four times,” said Raees as quoted by Hindustan Times.
He also mentioned about his experience of bowling to South African legend Hashim Amla during the World XI T20 series in Pakistan. Raees dismissed the South African batsman in one of the matches in the long awaiting series in front of his home crowd.
“Then you have Hashim Amla, one of the greatest of all-time. It was a good learning curve bowling to him,” further added the Pakistani fast bowler.
